Balancer 2.0 is out now!

Balancer 2.0 features robust and easy to use accurate pixel-based tolerance simplification. Now you can easily obtain desired visual quality just in one click, without thoroughly inspecting simplified models at different triangle count.

Balancer 1.5 is available! Balancer 2.0 is coming - stay tuned.

Balancer 1.5 is now available!
Here is a brief list of the main new features and improvements:

  • Simplification: even further improved robustness and feature preservation
  • New mesh processing: T-Junction elimination
  • New: isolation of displaying selected objects for easier inspection
  • New: ability to save/export selected and/or visible objects only
  • New: customization of mouse wheel direction
  • Many minor fixes and improvements
  • Mac: several critical stability issues fixed

Balancer 1.2 is available, now with selective density control

Balancer 1.2 is available! and has the features many of you requested.

Now you can control face densities for selective reduction rate of
different groups/meshes/sub-meshes. For example, you can set
density of 5 to the head group of your model, to increase the density
of the head vertices roughly 5 times.

All the new features:

  • Densities for selective reduction rate of different groups/sub-meshes
  • Locking of different groups/sub-meshes
  • Multiple selection
  • Selection by material:

Many of you asked to be able to change mouse mapping. Now you can customize mouse navigation to match your favorite authoring application.

New simplification features:

Prevent UV Foldovers guarantees that simplified models do not have
texture foldovers. It is turned on by default.

Prevent XY Foldovers is for terrain-like models. While Balancer almost never
introduces foldovers (aka caves or triangle flips) of terrain meshes,
in some very rare cases it still may happen. This feature guarantees

All your feedback is highly appreciated.

Enjoy!
