I like the tool however adding rigged Figure poly reduction support would be real cool. Please progress : Big smile

Materials not found

Hi all,
I'm new using Balancer.
I'm using Mac 2.0 on a Mac.
I have a complex model .OBJ with textures.
I opened it with Balancer and amazing tool to reduce poligons, but no textures at all. On Materials folder apears 'not found' but inside all magterials names (+130).
Is there a way to import with textures? Or is a way to reassign them to each object?

Thanks in advance.

Normal mapping

I utterly love this application and something I would love for this application would be automatically generated normal maps to add in the details afterwards that gets lost when you do heavy polygon reduction.

Maintain quads

Will Balancer ever be able to maintain quads instead of triangles?

Great

This works great for my purposes. Thank you Atangeo.

How to export from Unity to Balancer

Hi All!

We are grateful to Maarten van Grinsven from VisionaiR3D who created
a cool video showing how to export a model from the Unity editor
and simplify it with Balancer.

The Unity package that contains an exporter for .OBJ format
comes with Unity within the Angrybot demo.

Enjoy!

Pricing Model

Hi,

We're following this post over on the Unity3D forums with great anticipation:
http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/126251-Polygon-Reduction-Plugin-Preview

In anticipation of the launch, I visited your website to look at the pricing model, which I'm pleased to say is affordable to most indie developers. However, many Unity3D developers work on Macs supporting both OSX and Windows, including us. But you have separate pricing for each, which will annoy a lot of people. Please consider changing your pricing model to be per seat, with 1 license covering both platforms.

Thanks,

Zbrush user

Can this do a better job that Zbrush Decimation master ?

It looks cool BTW ...

Ballancer wish list

Ballancer is really great SW, especially for such price. It has by far the best decimation from "indie priced" SW. That is the reason why I bought it. Anyway I have few ideas, about improvements:

-automatic normal map generation (projection from high poly to low poly)
-automatic deleting of interiors (inner structure).
-texture and mesh merging (join several meshes/submeshes and especially textures into one)

Balancer is wonderful

I am a MoI/Modo/Zbrush user and I want to take a moment to say how impressed I am with Balancer. It's really the best decimation and automated LODing tool I've ever used. I started using it a few days ago and I don't know how I lived without it beforehand. Thank you, Atangeo, for making a very affordable, life-saving bit of software. I am spreading the word with my co-workers and friends.
